  2. Hi Darshana, sorry for signing as Sri Lankan Writing -- my students' blog -- but i cant seem to become Dinali in this blooming blogosphere!!:D

Anyway, thank you for setting this up so quickly. you've already got a response :)

I have added some info to your introduction, to make it a bit more specific, as the purpose is to look at SLE in terms of what it means in the ELT classroom. I have made the changes below, you can cut and paste it.

    thanks a lot, Dinali :)

    BENCHMARKS for SRI LANKAN ENGLISH

The Presidential Task Force on English and IT along with the Ministry of Education is working on deciding benchmarks for Sri Lankan English for teachers and learners of English. A committee has been appointed in this regard and the committee invites the public to come up with their views and suggestions to accomplish this challenging task. This blog is dedicated for those who are interested in Sri Lankan English for the teaching of English to give their ideas for discussion. Hope you will start an active discussion.

  3. Hi again.

Thanks also for the intro to Sri Lankan English pronunciation. Great questions.

Just to make things a little clear, and more relevant to our purpose, I just changed Sri Lankan pronunciation to Standard Sri Lankan pronunciation :

What is standard Sri Lankan English pronunciation? How does it deviate from other standards like Standard British English or Indian English? What distinct features make it Sri Lankan?
